"I've had the privilege of working at this community for over 16 years in various roles, and I am honored to continue my journey as the General Manager. This community holds a very special place in my heart and it's more than just a place to work. As someone who lives just a mile from the property, I have the unique opportunity of being part of the same neighborhood as our residents and family members.
I am committed to providing a warm environment with excellent customer service, and a place where people truly feel at home. In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, baking a new recipe, or getting lost in a good book! I love to spend time with my animals and giving back by volunteering with a variety of local organizations."

A Message From A Resident
at Merrill Gardens at Barkley Place
"Ellen is a person everyone wants to be around. She is kind, honest, friendly, and loving. Ellen and her late husband, Jack, moved into Barkley Place and Ellen has been here for 8 wonderful years. Ellen was a teacher for 40 years and it was her passion. She taught first and second grade for 30 years and high school for 10. She's still in touch with a student she taught in the first grade!
Ellen loves to watch any sport, and she was an avid golfer, playing four times a week! She's given up the golf clubs, but she's in our pool every morning for her daily swim. When asked what her favorite restaurant was, she said, 'the dining room at Barkley Place.'
Ellen believes in service to others, and she distributes communion to our residents every Sunday. It's a pleasure to have her at our community! She would also like to add she was a Dominican nun, and this is what she's most proud of. She's also had 5 holes-in-one!! "
